About
All pieces are handmade in Victoria, BC by Léïa-Fahé V.
I am originally from Aylmer, Québec and spent many years in Montreal where I studied Design at Concordia University. I specialized my BFA in furniture design and graphic design, passions that guide my work to this day.
As I am always eager to learn new artistic techniques, I dabbed in screen printing, lithography and took up silversmithing before falling in love with ceramics. That sparked a move to Nelson, BC to pursue the Ceramics diploma at Kootenay Studio Arts. After spending two years playing in the mud in Nelson, I relocated to Victoria and joined Puerta Rosa Studio. I helped shape the studio to the vibrant space it is today along with my amazing studio mates.
My work draws inspiration from Scandinavian and Italian modern design. I balance functional design and tactility with colourful patterns and accents. Coming from a design background, the shape and feel of each piece is as important as the surface design. I thrive to make pieces that are as enjoyable to use as they are to look at.
